Online Visualizer.
The first photorealistic online car wrap visualizer. Built on Unreal Engine for Avery Dennison so customers could finally see the finish on their car before they bought it.
The catalogue was the problem, a swatchbook can’t sell a wrap.
Avery Dennison sells some of the most beautiful vinyl on earth. The trouble starts the moment a customer walks into a shop to see it. They’re handed a swatchbook with a hundred 2-inch chips and asked to picture them on a 4,000-pound car, in a parking lot, in a garage, in evening light, against the panel lines of their actual vehicle.
Most customers can’t do it. They get overwhelmed, freeze, ask for a second visit, or pick the safest colour and leave the bold one on the table. Shops lose the upsell. The brand loses a sale that was already in the building.
Avery Dennison asked us to make a wrap purchase feel less like a gamble and more like trying on the finished car.
A photorealistic online visualizer, built on Unreal Engine.
We built Avery Dennison the first photorealistic web-based vehicle wrap visualizer in the industry. Anyone, an installer pitching a job, a brand briefing a campaign, a customer browsing at home before they even walk into a shop, can pick a vehicle, apply any vinyl from the catalogue, and see the finish on a real, three-dimensional car in their browser.
The 2-inch chip becomes the entire car. The customer makes the decision they could never make from a swatchbook alone.
Every angle, every finish, every light condition.
The hardest part of selling vinyl is that the same colour behaves differently in every light. A chrome catches an evening sun the way nothing else does. Matte goes flat and architectural under midday glare. A Blast texture reads gritty next to a glossy hood and silky next to a satin roof.
The visualizer hands all of that to the user. Pick the vehicle. Apply any of 100+ colours across the Supreme Wrapping Film and Conform Chrome Series. Dial in the environment. Customize roof panels, mirrors, accents. Rotate. Compare side-by-side.
Decisions get made before the deposit, not regretted after the install, the customer sees exactly what they’re paying for.
The same tool, three different wins.
It was the first visualizer of its kind in the automotive wrap industry, and it changed how the entire category was sold, not through static product shots, but through experience. The payoff landed differently for everyone in the chain:
For Avery Dennison, the catalogue stops living in print and starts converting on the web. For shops, customers walk in already excited and already decided. For the customer, the colour they wanted is the colour they get, no surprises after the wrap is on.
“We know our product is exceptional. We’re confident enough to show you exactly how it will look.”
For years it drove configuration and sales globally, proof that in the wrap industry, seeing truly is believing.
The launch films for Avery’s new colour drops.
Beyond the visualizer itself, Avery brought us back to make the films that launched their new colour ranges. Same pipeline, different deliverable: every car, every finish, rendered out of the same studio that powered the configurator.
